Hello again traveler, for today's blog post from European Gateways, we bring you an incredible destination located in Italy. We're talking about Sardinia, an island with charm, paradisiacal beaches, and plenty of activities to do. Dive with us into this adventure!

Day 1: Good morning traveler, start your adventure in the beautiful city of Cagliari, the capital of the island. After settling into your accommodation, head to the old town, known as "Castello", where you'll find charming medieval streets. Visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria, an impressive 13th-century church, and enjoy panoramic views from the Bastion of San Remy.

For lunch, try authentic Sardinian cuisine at one of the local restaurants. I recommend trying "culurgiones", a type of typical stuffed ravioli from the region, you'll surely love it.

In the afternoon, take a walk through the Molentargius-Saline Natural Park, where you can observe pink flamingos in their natural habitat and enjoy the beauty of the wetlands.

To end the day, head to Poetto Beach, an extensive stretch of golden sand bathed in crystal-clear waters where you can relax and sunbathe. You can watch the sunset from there, a perfect plan to see the sunset over the Mediterranean Sea. You can have dinner with a typical Italian pizza accompanied by wine on the beach and take a walk along the shore at night.

Day 2: On your second day, after a delicious breakfast, embark on a journey north of the island to the dazzling Costa Smeralda. Make an essential stop at Porto Cervo, the luxurious marina known for its luxury yachts and exclusive boutiques. (Living expenses here are very high, so we recommend bringing prepared food with some snacks.)

Continue your journey to the most famous beaches in the area, such as Prince's Beach and Capriccioli Beach, where you can swim in turquoise waters and sunbathe on white sands.

For lunch, find a restaurant with sea views and try fresh seafood dishes, such as "zuppa di pesce" or "spaghetti ai ricci di mare".

In the afternoon, visit the village of San Pantaleo, known for its local craft market, where you can buy unique souvenirs and enjoy the lively atmosphere. In the evening, dress up and have a drink in Porto Rotondo, a small village similar to Porto Cervo where there are bars with music until late.

Day 3: On your last day in Sardinia, explore the mountainous interior of the island. Put on comfortable shoes and head to the Gennargentu National Park, where you'll find spectacular landscapes such as gorges, waterfalls, and centuries-old oak forests.

Make a stop in the charming village of Orgosolo, famous for its street murals depicting the life and history of the region. Take a walk through its streets decorated with urban art and visit the Banditism Museum to learn about Sardinia's fascinating pastoral culture.

For lunch, try "porceddu", a traditional dish of slowly roasted pork over coals, at a local restaurant, you'll surely love it.

Before returning to Cagliari, make a stop at the spectacular Gorropu Canyon, one of the deepest gorges in Europe, where you can take a scenic hike and enjoy the island's pristine nature. Later, visit Cala Goloritze, a beach with few tourists where you can be calm and snorkel as the water is super clear.

With these three days full of unique experiences, you'll have explored the best that Sardinia has to offer, from its charming cities to its stunning natural landscapes and paradisiacal beaches. I hope you enjoy your trip to the fullest!

Recommendations: From European Gateways, we recommend you to rent a car to get around the island to facilitate your movements from the apartment to the beaches and places of interest. Wear comfortable shoes as most streets are not paved but made of stones from the era. Hola de nuevo viajero, para el blog de hoy desde European Gateways traemos un destino increíble ubicado en Italia, estamos hablando de Cerdeña, una isla con encanto, playas paradisíacas, y muchas actividades por hacer. ¡Sumérgete con nosotros en esta aventura!

Día 1: Buenos días viajero, comienza tu aventura en la hermosa ciudad de Cagliari, la capital de la isla. Después de instalarte en tu alojamiento, dirígete al casco antiguo, conocido como "Castello", donde encontrarás calles empedradas llenas de encanto medieval. Visita la Catedral de Santa María, una impresionante iglesia del siglo XIII, y disfruta de las vistas panorámicas desde la Bastión de San Remy.

Para el almuerzo, prueba la auténtica cocina sarda en alguno de los restaurantes locales. Recomiendo probar el "culurgiones", una especie de ravioli relleno típico de la región, de seguro te encantará.

Por la tarde, date un paseo por el Parque Natural de Molentargius-Saline, donde podrás observar flamencos rosados en su hábitat natural y disfrutar de la belleza de los humedales.

Para terminar el día, dirígete a la playa de Poetto, una extensa franja de arena dorada bañada por aguas cristalinas donde podrás relajarte y tomar el sol. Podrás ver desde ahí la puesta de sol en la playa, un plan perfecto para ver el atardecer sobre el mar Mediterráneo.

Puedes cenar una pizza típica italiana acompañada de un vino a pie de playa y pasear por la orilla de noche.

Día 2: En tu segundo día, después de un delicioso desayuno, emprende un viaje hacia el norte de la isla hasta llegar a la deslumbrante Costa Esmeralda. Haz una parada imprescindible a Porto Cervo, el lujoso puerto deportivo conocido por sus yates de lujo y sus exclusivas boutiques, (el precio de vida aquí es muy caro por lo que recomendamos traer comida preparada o unos bocadillos).

Continúa tu recorrido hacia las playas más famosas de la zona, como la playa del Príncipe y la playa de Capriccioli, donde podrás nadar en aguas turquesas y tomar el sol en arenas blancas.

Para el almuerzo, busca un restaurante con vistas al mar y prueba platos de mariscos frescos, como la "zuppa di pesce" o el "spaghetti ai ricci di mare".

Por la tarde, visita el pueblo de San Pantaleo, conocido por su mercado de artesanía local, donde podrás comprar recuerdos únicos y disfrutar del ambiente animado.

Por la noche ponte guapo y toma algo por Porto Rotondo, un pequeño pueblo parecido a Porto Cervo donde por la noche hay bares con música hasta tarde.

Día 3: En tu último día en Cerdeña, explora el interior montañoso de la isla. Ponte calzado cómodo y dirígete al Parque Nacional del Gennargentu, donde encontrarás paisajes espectaculares, como desfiladeros, cascadas y bosques de robles centenarios.

Haz una parada en el encantador pueblo de Orgosolo, famoso por sus murales callejeros que retratan la vida y la historia de la región. Da un paseo por sus calles decoradas con arte urbano y visita el Museo del Banditismo para aprender sobre la fascinante cultura pastoral de Cerdeña.

Para el almuerzo, prueba la "porceddu", un plato tradicional de cerdo asado lentamente sobre brasas, en algún restaurante local, de seguro que te encanta.

Antes de regresar a Cagliari, haz una parada en el espectacular Cañón de Gorropu, uno de los desfiladeros más profundos de Europa, donde podrás hacer una caminata escénica y disfrutar de la naturaleza virgen de la isla. 

Más tarde visita la Cala Goloritze, una playa con poco turismo donde puedes estar tranquilo y hacer snorkel ya que el agua es super cristalina.

Recomendaciones: Desde European Gateways te recomendamos para moverte por la isla alquilar un coche para facilitar tus movimientos del apartamento a las playas y lugares de interés. Lleva zapatos cómodos ya que la mayoría de calles no están asfaltadas ya que son de piedras de la época. Trae protector solar y gafas de buceo para mejorar aún más tu experiencia, pero sobre todo disfruta mucho.
