This city so steeped in history is a must-see if you have not yet had the opportunity to discover it and, for this, we have prepared a very intense three-day guide so that you do not miss anything and make the most of your getaway. Here we go!

Day 1: On the first day we will discover the historic center of the city; start early with an Italian breakfast in a local cafe if you have not had breakfast at the airport to get your strength back. A great option to start your walk through the streets of Florence is to head to the majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo). There you can admire its impressive marble facade and its dome designed by Brunelleschi. Our recommendation is that you value the possibility of climbing the dome to enjoy a panoramic view of the city that is well worth it. Later, you can visit the Baptistery of San Giovanni, characterized by its bronze doors, especially the well-known Paradise Door by Ghiberti.

Continue on your way to Piazza della Signoria, where you can see the fountain of Neptune. Your next stop should be the Accademia Gallery to admire Michelangelo's iconic sculpture of David and other Renaissance masterpieces. It's time to take a break, so much art will overwhelm you! To recharge your batteries the best option is to stop for a quiet lunch in a local trattoria. You will love lunch; it is clear that in Italy food does not disappoint, but we cannot stop the pace. We recommend you visit the Palazzo Vecchio to start the afternoon, the former residence of the Medici and seat of the Florentine government. Lose yourself in its impressively decorated rooms full of history. Later, we suggest a stroll through the Loggia dei Lanzi, where you will find outdoor Renaissance sculptures, including Giambologna's “The Rape of the Sabine Women”. Crossing the Ponte Vecchio is a must, famous for its jewelry stores and medieval architecture, before ending the day with a final evening stroll through the Boboli Gardens, located behind Palazzo Pitti, where you can relax and enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the city.

 

Day 2: The first day was full of excitement and itineraries, so for the second day we have prepared a slightly relaxing plan. Have a leisurely breakfast near your hotel and head to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important art collections in the world. You can find masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and other Renaissance artists.

Then stroll through the San Lorenzo district, where you will come across the Basilica of San Lorenzo, designed by none other than Brunelleschi, and the Mercato Centrale, ideal for buying fresh local produce that you are sure to love.

After lunch, we suggest a visit to the Museo Nazionale del Bargello, which houses an impressive collection of Renaissance sculptures, including masterpieces by Donatello and Michelangelo. To round off the second day, explore the Oltrarno district with its workshops of local artisans. There you can find authentic works of art and the occasional souvenir for the people you love. For dinner, our personal recommendation is a small, highly rated local Tuscan establishment called Osteria Toscanella in the same Oltrarno neighborhood.

 

 

Day 3: We have good news and bad news our dear traveler... The bad news is that you have already toured the entire city of Florence, however, the good news is great! Very close to Firenze is the iconic city of Pisa with its famous leaning tower that attracts millions of tourists year after year. Take a train or bus to get there and you can explore, besides the Tower, its historic center. However, avoid at all costs to have any meal there as the prices are stratospheric due to the tourist overcrowding of the place.

That is why we recommend you return to Florence for lunch and visit the charming village of Fiesole, located in the hills surrounding the city. Enjoy the last panoramic views of the city and explore the Roman archaeological site that lies here before heading back to the airport.

¡Muy buenas viajero! En el día de hoy te vamos a hacer entrar unas ganas terribles de visitar la emblemática ciudad italiana de Florencia. Firenze, conocida así localmente, con su esencia renacentista, te va a cautivar de una manera que pocos itinerarios europeos podrán hacer. Esta ciudad tan cargada de historia es de visita obligatoria si aún no has tenido la oportunidad de descubrirla y, para ello, te hemos preparado una guía de tres días muy intensa para que no te pierdas nada y aproveches al máximo tu escapada. ¡Vamos allá!

 

Día 1: En el primer día te animamos a descubrir  el centro histórico de la ciudad; puedes comenzar temprano con un desayuno italiano en una cafetería local (si no has desayunado en el aeropuerto) para coger fuerzas. Una magnífica opción para empezar tu camino por las calles de Florencia es dirigirte a la majestuosa Catedral de Santa María del Fiore (Duomo). Allí podrás admirar su impresionante fachada de mármol y su cúpula diseñada por Brunelleschi. Nuestra recomendación es que valores la posibilidad de subir a la cúpula para disfrutar de una vista panorámica de la ciudad que vale mucho la pena. Más tarde, puedes visitar el Baptisterio de San Giovanni, característico por sus puertas de bronce, en especial la conocida Puerta del Paraíso de Ghiberti.

Continúa tu camino hacia la Piazza della Signoria, donde podrás observar la fuente de Neptuno. Tu siguiente parada debería ser la Galería de la Academia para admirar la icónica escultura de David de Miguel Ángel y otras obras maestras renacentistas. Llegó la hora de hacer un parón, ¡tanto arte te va a abrumar! Para reponer energías la mejor opción es parar para comer tranquilamente en una trattoria local. Día 2: El primer día estuvo repleto de emociones e itinerarios, por lo que, para el segundo día hemos preparado un plan un pelín más tranquilo. Puedes desayunar sin prisa alguna cerca del lugar donde te hospedarás para después poner rumbo hacia la Galería Uffizi, una de las colecciones de arte más importantes del mundo. Podrás encontrar obras maestras de Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael y otros artistas renacentistas.

Nuestra sugerencia es que recorras más tarde el barrio de San Lorenzo, donde te toparás con la Basílica de San Lorenzo, diseñada por no otro que Brunelleschi, y el Mercato Centrale, ideal para comprar productos locales frescos que de bien seguro te van a encantar.

Después de comer, te proponemos una visita al Museo Nacional del Bargello, que alberga una impresionante colección de esculturas renacentistas, incluyendo obras maestras de Donatello y Miguel Ángel. Para ir terminando con el segundo día, te aconsejamos explorar el barrio de Oltrarno con sus talleres de artesanos locales. Allí podrás encontrar obras de arte auténticas y algún que otro suvenir para la gente que quieres. Para cenar, nuestra recomendación personal es un pequeño establecimiento local toscano muy bien valorado llamado Osteria Toscanella en el mismo barrio de Oltrarno.

 

Día 3: Tenemos una buena y una mala noticia viajero. La mala es que ya has recorrido la ciudad entera de Florencia… No obstante, ¡la buena noticia es magnífica! Muy cercana a Firenze se ubica la emblemática ciudad de Pisa con su famosa torre inclinada que atrae a millones de turistas año tras año. Para llegar de forma económica, puedes tomar un tren o un autobús y podrás explorar, además de la Torre, su centro histórico. No obstante, evita a toda costa hacer cualquier comida allí ya que los precios son estratosféricos debido a la masificación turística del lugar.

Es por eso por lo que te recomendamos volver enseguida a Florencia para almorzar y visitar el encantador pueblo de Fiesole, situado en las colinas que rodean la ciudad. Disfruta de las últimas vistas panorámicas de la ciudad y explora el yacimiento arqueológico romano que yace en este lugar antes de volver hacia el aeropuerto.
