Hello traveller! Today we bring you one of the most fascinating cities in the world; the capital of Italy, Rome! This city is sure to captivate you not only with its 2,500 years of history, but also with its art and exquisite gastronomy, famous for its pasta, pizzas and artisanal gelatos. Rome is home to the most important runes of the ancient Roman Empire, but it is also home to countless works by great artists such as Michelangelo, Bernini and Raphael.

Due to its Mediterranean climate, summers are quite hot, so the best time to visit is in spring or autumn, when the weather is more pleasant and you'll avoid the large crowds of tourists that arrive in the summer months. The best way to get to the Italian capital is by plane. The two main airports are Leonardo da Vinci Airport at Fiumicino and Giovanni Battista Pastine Airport at Ciampino, both of which are well connected to the city.

Day 1: On your arrival in Rome the first essential visit is to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, these two visits will take up most of the morning. In the afternoon an excellent option is to visit the Palatine Hill and the Capitoline Hill, two historic sites close to the Colosseum with panoramic views of the city. 

In the evening, one of the most beautiful sights to see is the Trevi Fountain, where legend has it that if you throw a coin you will surely return to Rome. 

Day 2: For your second day we propose you to leave Rome and enter the smallest country in the world, the Vatican City. Here you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the numerous Vatican museums, marvel at the world famous Sistine Chapel, admire the grandeur of St. Peter's Basilica and the impressive gardens. A full visit to the Vatican City will take up practically the whole day as there are numerous works of art in every corner of this small country, and it is highly recommended to take a guided tour or free tour so you don't miss out on any details. 

Day 3: Start the day with breakfast in Trastevere, a beautiful neighbourhood known for its picturesque cobbled streets. Within walking distance you will find the Pantheon, one of the best preserved monuments of ancient Rome. Although at first glance there may seem to be a lot of people waiting, the queue goes quickly and admission is free. After this visit, we recommend you head to Piazza Navona, famous for its fountains and baroque sculptures. 

In the afternoon, take some time to wander through the streets of the city, where you will find numerous impressive churches and corners full of history. 

Day 4: On your last day, we suggest a leisurely visit to two of the Italian capital's must-see museums. In the morning, the Galleria Broghese, located in the gardens of Villa Borghese. Here you can see works by Berni, Caravaggio and Raphael. 

In the afternoon, we recommend a visit to the majestic Capitoline Palaces, where you will find the Capitoline Museum, the oldest museum in the world. It houses an extensive collection of sculptures, inscriptions and Renaissance works. 

Recommendations: Book your tickets for the Colosseum and the Roman Forum in advance, this way you will not only avoid long queues, but you will also be guaranteed entry, as they are historical remains and access is limited to a specific number of visitors per day. If you also want to visit the Vatican City, it is also advisable to have booked tickets to visit the museums and the Sistine Chapel to avoid long queues. 

If you are visiting this city you should not miss the restaurant Osteria da Fortunata. This establishment is known for its traditional Italian cuisine and offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where you can also see how fresh pasta is made. It is definitely a culinary experience not to be missed.

¡Hola viajero! Hoy te traemos una de las ciudades más fascinantes del mundo; ¡la capital de Italia, Roma! Esta ciudad de bien seguro no solo te cautivará por sus 2,500 años de historia, sino que también su arte y su gastronomía exquisita, famosa por sus pastas, pizzas y gelatos artesanales. Roma es el hogar de las runas más importantes del antiguo Imperio Romano, pero también alberga innumerables obras de grandes artistas como Miguel Ángel, Bernini y Rafael.

Debido a su clima mediterráneo, los veranos son bastante calurosos, por lo que la mejor época para visitar esta ciudad es en primavera o en otoño, pues el clima es más agradable y además te evitarás las grandes multitudes de turistas que llegan en los meses de verano. La mejor opción para llegar a la capital italiana es en avión. Los dos principales aeropuertos son el Aeropuerto Leonardo da Vinci en Fiumicino o bien el de Areropuerto Giovanni Battista Pastine en Ciampino, ambos bastante bien conectados con la ciudad.

Día 1: A tu llegada a Roma la primera visita imprescindible es el Coliseo y el Foro Romano, estas dos visitas te ocupan prácticamente toda la mañana. Por la tarde una excelente opción es visitar el palatino y el Capitolio, dos sitios históricos cercanos al coliseo con unas vistas panorámicas de la ciudad. 

Por la noche sin duda uno de los lugares más bonitos de ver es  la Fontana de Trevi, donde según cuenta la leyenda si tiras una moneda de seguro volverás a Roma. 

Día 2: En tu segundo día te proponemos salir de Roma para adentrarte en el país más pequeño del mundo, la Ciudad del Vaticano. Aquí tendrás la oportunidad de sumergirte en los numerosos museos vaticanos, maravillarte con la mundialmente conocida Capilla Sixtina, admirar la grandiosidad de la  Basílica de San Pedro y los impresionantes jardines. La visita completa a la Ciudad del Vaticano te ocupará prácticamente todo el día pues en cada rincón de este pequeño país hay numerosas obras de arte, además es muy recomendable coger una visita guiada o free tour para no perderte ningún detalle. 

Día 3: Empieza el día desayunando en el barrio de Trastevere, un precioso barrio conocido por sus pintorescas calles adoquinadas. A poca distancia encontrarás el Panteon uno de los monumentos mejor conservados de la antigua Roma. Aunque a primera vista puede parecer que hay muchas personas esperando, la cola avanza rápidamente y la entrada es gratuita. Después de esta visita,  te recomendamos dirigirte a la plaza Navona, famosa por sus fuentes y esculturas barrocas. 

Por la tarde, tomate un tiempo para perderte entre las calles de la ciudad, donde encontrarás numerosas iglesias impresionantes y rincones llenos de historia. 

Día 4: En tu último día te proponemos una visita tranquila a dos museos imprescindibles de la capital italiana. Por la mañana,  la Galería Broghese, ubicada en los jardines de Villa Borghese. Aquí podrás ver obras de Berni, Caravaggio y Rafael. 

Por la tarde, te recomendamos ir a los majestuosos Palacios Capitolino, donde encontrarás el Museo Capitolino, es el museo más antiguo del mundo. Este alberga una extensa colección de esculturas, inscripciones y obras renacentistas.

Recomendaciones: Reserva con antelación las entradas para el Coliseo y el Foro Romano, de esta manera no te evitarás largas colas, sino que también te asegurará la entrada, pues al ser restos históricos el acceso está limitado a un número específico de visitantes por día. Si además quieres visitar la ciudad del vaticano también es recomendable haber reservado las entradas para visitar los museos y la capilla Sixtina para evitar las largas colas.
